The 10 Founding Principles of TAP

What if America’s biggest problem isn’t the divide between Republicans and Democrats, but the growing divide between The People and those who govern them?

For generations, Americans have been encouraged to choose sides, defend political parties, and blame their neighbors for the nation’s problems. Meanwhile, the principles that made America possible are too often forgotten.

The American Party (TAP) was created to challenge that mindset.

Inspired by The People’s Manifesto, TAP isn’t about building another political machine or replacing one party with another. It’s about bringing Americans together around ten founding principles that put freedom, responsibility, accountability, and The People first.

The 10 Founding Principles

1. Government Serves the People

Government exists to serve its citizens, not control them. Political power originates with The People, and elected officials are public servants, not rulers.

2. The Constitution Sets the Boundaries

The Constitution isn’t a suggestion. It establishes limits on government authority while protecting individual freedoms. No politician, political party, or government institution should operate above those boundaries.

3. Freedom Requires Responsibility

Freedom cannot survive without personal responsibility. Our rights come with an obligation to respect the rights of others, contribute to our communities, and accept accountability for our decisions.

4. One Nation, One Rule of Law

Justice must apply equally to everyone. Whether someone is wealthy, politically connected, or an ordinary citizen, nobody deserves special treatment or immunity from accountability.

5. Strong Families and Communities Build Strong Nations

A strong America begins at home. Families, neighborhoods, and local communities provide the foundation for stability, character, opportunity, and the next generation’s success.

6. Power Belongs Close to the People

Decisions should be made as close to the citizens they affect as reasonably possible. Local communities often understand their challenges better than distant government bureaucracies.

7. Principles Before Party

Blind political loyalty is dangerous. Americans should defend their values, not politicians. When leaders betray the principles they claim to represent, accountability must matter more than party affiliation.

8. Transparency Creates Trust

Government should operate openly and honestly. Citizens deserve access to information, understandable decisions, and institutions that can be questioned, examined, and held accountable.

9. Citizenship Requires Participation

A constitutional republic depends on engaged citizens. Voting matters, but citizenship also means staying informed, questioning authority, participating locally, and refusing to surrender our responsibilities to politicians.

10. Americans Have More in Common Than Politics Suggests

Political disagreements don’t automatically make us enemies. Most Americans want freedom, safety, opportunity, fairness, and a better future for their children. Those shared goals should unite us.

A Movement Built Around The People

These ten principles aren’t Republican or Democratic. They’re American.

The American Party believes meaningful change doesn’t begin in Washington. It begins when ordinary citizens reject manufactured division, demand accountability, and rediscover the values they share.

We don’t need another political team demanding unquestioned loyalty. We need Americans willing to put principles above personalities and country above party.

That’s what TAP stands for.

Not left versus right. The People standing together.

Join The American Party community, explore our founding principles, and help build a movement where power belongs to The People.
